Student Day at the Capitol 2007

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR

TUESDAY APRIL 21st (7am-2pm)!

Youth are invited to this year’s Student Day at the Capitol. We hope you can attend or consider volunteering during the day! Everyone who is working to remove the institutional barriers preventing immigrant and Latino students from obtaining a college education are welcomed to join us at the St. Paul state Capitol on this day. By coming together, students, educators, allies and advocates for equal access to higher education will get an opportunity to: * network, build alliances and strengthen relationships with other people working to improve the lives of immigrant and Latino families and youth * collectively identify barriers preventing our community from fully accessing all levels of education *work together to take action to help remove these barriers *practice our leadership and public speaking skills *improve civic literacy skills and increase the level of the immigrant and Latino community’s civic engagement *help students prepare to go to college by learning more about college-going options More information about how to help on this day, registration and logistics will be provided in the near future, for now we hope you can reserve this day on your calendar.
